According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office CPSO Sr. Cpl. Chris Duhon and his partner, K-9 King, were tracking a suspect who ran from deputies during a domestic violence call. K-9 King later died in the line of duty.

“Our K-9s are like members of our family. We are all heartbroken over the death of K-9 King. When a member of our family dies, we all hurt,” stated Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso.

K-9 King was 7 years old. He will be given an honors funeral at a later date.
